Pyromania redux by kRat killtherat@bigfoot.com A demo - Think of it as a music video for computers. Or maybe artistic math. ----- redux info - This is the second version of Pyromania. The first version's end screen randomly crashed (I took it out) and the depth switching crashed as well (I took that out to), that's what you get for working outside of quickdraw. I've also sped up some of the effects, and Kevin stone donated new art for the demo. I've also added a 'loop' feature. If you start up the demo holding down the command key, it'll just keep on looping until the mouse is clicked. This is good for public display systems. ---- You have to have at least a 640x480 screen set to 256 colors, or the demo will beep at you... The demo scene on the Mac is a newborn. DOS on the other hand is in it's late twenties, still partying hard and still a young stud of a culture movement, but starting to show it's age. I know I'll get a lot of flak for saying it, but in the demo scene for DOS rocks. On some day's I wish I had a Pentium striped down and running DOS and some of the coolest demos on the PC scene. But those days aren't frequent. If you have a DOS machine, I'd encourage you to go to , heck go there even if you don't. If you want to see demos for the mac, check out After seeing some of the top notch demos there, you'll see why I feel somewhat insecure about mine. This is my first demo, in fact it has a lot of my first 3D effects. But I do think it's good enough to show to the general public. You can visit my page, it's mostly about Macintosh Programming, at Anyway, enough plugging web pages, now some legal stuff. There isn't real cost to Pyromania, it's an art piece, so I couldn't really charge money for it (it's like a demo coder custom, we aren't making shareware, we're making demos). It's mostly a resume piece (yes, unemployed college student), and a way to show off. But darn it, it's MINE!!! Everything in it (ok, except some of the art and the music) is MINE!!!! Don't go around selling it as your own. And if you put it on a CD-ROM please be kind enough to tell me about it. kRat killtherat@bigfoot.com ---- Music: 'skyscraper i love you' originally by underworld remixed by necros/fm 16 chan .s3m / 5:50 an F M R E L E A S E (09/15/1995) ----
