 The "author" of tstrsbot.gif was Thunderstorm of TRS93. He entered this
 picture at the NAID graphics competition of which I was a judge.

 Among the judges for the graphics competition were myself, Veritech Knight
 (NAID 95 organizer), and a professional graphics artist.

 Upon seeing this picture, there was doubt as to its originality, because of
 the extreme high quality. We spent almost an hour talking with the artist,
 loading the beta versions of the picture (Daredevil even said that it looked
 like he used a program with a "hollow-out" feature to create the "wire-frame"
 beta version of the picture), and checking it under different programs to
 see if we could detect that it was scanned.

 However, we overlooked the possibility of it being ripped. Unfortunately,
 since we could find no solid incriminating evidence, the picture had to be
 accepted, and was originally awarded first place. Some time after NAID, the
 original picture became available. I do not know who located it, but they
 deserve credit for exposing this fraud.

 Regrets to Schizosynth and LakEEE, who placed second and third in the
 graphics competition, behind the fradulent and later disqualified entry.
