To run the demo, you must first compile it. It should work under any linux
distribution as long as you haven't deleted libncurses for some fishy
reason.

Just cd to the directory containing the files "make" and "demo.c", and type
"./make". Then run the demo by typing "./exe". Whether or not to include the
quotes when typing, is left as an exercise for the reader.
