My Logo Design

Purpose - To give an identity of the Beastie Boys on their website
at Beastieboys.com

Ideas - I was thinking something old school in terms of pop culture. 
Then I saw the "Intergalatic" video and the robot was moving like a 
stop motion lego man figures.  I loved playing with lego so I designed
the Beastie Boys as lego figures.  I guess the metaphor was like they
were the building blocks of hip-hop (the way I see it).  I put a vinyl
record in the background representing old school Deejaying and sampling.
The colors were from a magazine picture of them wearing those baby fabric
jump suits. Something old with something new was the way I was designing
it.

Techniques - Just a lot of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to come up
with the conceptual idea and produce the final logo design. I kept it
simple and graphic, not too over the top. I came up with several caricatures
of the facial expressions but I went with these to represent Mike D, Ad Rock,
and MCA.
