*** Marching at 2880 fps *** by teadrinker A video synth + demo for the Looking Glass Portrait 3D Display. Greetings to everyone in the scene! Love Still, Logicoma, Mercury, Cocoon, Fairlight, Trauma, Conspiracy, rgba, Rage, Spaceballs, Future Crew! Thanks to * iq for info and examples on raymarching! * all organizers at revision! * the inventors of tea! Notes on 3D Display The display is lowres (420x560), but each frame consists of 48 images, displayed at different angles. Sort of like a light field, but only along one line. The depth of field is very narrow, only 2-3 cm is sharp. (This can be used for a nice artistic effect actually, but then you need to have the rendering budget to also do depth of field blur, I don't!) Running the demo It's somewhat cumbersome to run even if you have access to the 3D display, you also need Reaper and a midi loopback driver (I used loopMidi by Tobias Erichsen). You can set the port id in: Marching at 2880 fps_Data/StreamingAssets/midiport.txt In Reaper, you set midi output of the visualizer track by clicking "Route" to find "- MIDI Hardware Output" Tech Using Unity Game Engine (but own shaders of course) Using RtMidi.Core by Michael Dahl For MIDI communication.
